Riverside Research’s Sensors and Systems Directorate is seeking a college student for a part-time Junior Remote Sensing Data Analyst opportunity at Fairborn, OH in our Commercial Innovation Center. Responsibilities include researching and analyzing data from commercial remote sensing providers to understand and document capabilities of this growing field. This might include evaluations of data and products from EO, Spectral, SAR, and commercial RF data providers. Candidate will support research, engagement, and generation of reports on commercial vendor data sets and will perform investigations of relevant analytic workflows based on phenomenology. Candidate will be paired with a Senior Data SME for guidance and tasking.

Job Responsibilities:
- Apply analytical support to remote sensing data and identify new or advanced techniques for exploitation of targets and features
- Investigate sensor and target phenomenology and coordinate with Senior SME to recommend and design test collections to demonstrate workflows and analysis using commercial remote sensing data
- Support development of estimated target characteristics and observables using known models
- Research commercial and academia publications for applicability to relevant problem set
- Execute processes and tools to monitor, analyze and model performance and accuracy of remote sensing data
- Examine the efficacy and precision of new remote sensing sources and data collection procedures
- Create compelling visualizations to communicate data insights
- Coordinate with team leads to engage with external agencies and research partners on emerging methods and technologies for the application of remote sensing exploitation methods and algorithms
- Document and present research results and the status of ongoing or emerging projects
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Ability to achieve Top Secret clearance with SCI adjudication
- Working towards a Bachelor’s or certification in physics, mathematics, engineering, physical science, computer science, or relevant GIS field
- Experience with GIS tools and applications
- Experience in one of the following: remote sensing research, processing, or exploitation approaches, testing and analysis, and collection operations
- Propensity to dig into problems in the pursuit of determining root-cause
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, responsible team player able to work as part of a team with SME leads; effective/efficient written/verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications:
- Skilled at solving loosely defined problems with the capacity to evaluate challenging issues and develop workable answers
- Experience in at least one major programming language (i.e. Java, Python, C#/C++, JavaScript)
- Intelligence analysis or production experience
- Experience working with cloud environments like AWS and/or Azure
