We have our own film and mo-cap studio, we create board games, publish books, and through 2000AD, publish comics and graphic novels such as the amazing Judge Dredd.

We operate across multiple UK locations, with studios based in Oxford, Warwick, Liverpool, and Wakefield. We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Machine Learning Analyst to join our brand-new Machine Learning department.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role and to become a pillar in a small team dedicated to advancing our propriety technology. As a valuable team member, you’ll be a focal point for the Machine Learning department and gain cross-functional experience to interact with diverse departments ranging from Game Design to Art, contributing to the holistic game development process.

As a Machine Learning Analyst, you will help to create artificial intelligence systems in our game engine, utilising custom tools and ML/DL models to help create 3D Worlds and Game Levels with cutting-edge ML/DL techniques. This is a great chance to immerse yourself in the thrilling world of research, suggest and build innovative models, and to help lead the charge in product development.

As part of our team, an interest in both open-source satellite imagery data and in-house game-level datasets is required. You will assist in performing data analysis, preparing data for model building, assist in training and to validate models.

Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Head of the Machine Learning Department.

  • Suggest and assist to design and implement appropriate machine learning algorithms and tools.

  • Aid in conducting machine learning tests and experiments.

  • Assist to analyse machine learning tests.

  • Help to train and retrain systems as needed.

  • Assist to create and build suitable machine learning libraries and frameworks for our game development tools and released games.

Requirements

  • Strong interest in the field of Machine Learning and Game development.

  • Ability to write code in Python and C++

  • Good knowledge of math, probability, statistics, and machine learning algorithms.

  • Some experience in supervised, semi-supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning of machine learning/deep learning.

  • Understanding of data structures, data modeling, and software architecture.

  • Worked with tabular data, computer vision/imaginary data, and game datasets a plus.

  • Practical experience using NumPy, OpenCV, Pillow, Pandas, scikit-learn, scikit-image, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Keras during course projects or internships.

  • CI/CD and version control using GitLab and Perforce are a plus.

  • Some experience in one of the following AWS/Azure/GCP, preferably Azure (a plus).

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team with other disciplines.
