Purpose of the role
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise data lake and platforms data pipelines that extract, transform, and load data from various sources into company's data landscape.
Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains data flows for extracting, transforming and loading datasets according to cross-data architecture standards.
- Designs and implements data schemas that support efficient data retrieval and analysis.
- Optimizes data queries and data processing workflows to ensure that can be analyzed quickly and efficiently.
- Monitors data pipelines and data storage systems to ensure that they are performing optimally and that any issues are quickly identified and resolved.
- Develops and maintains documentation for data systems, including data dictionaries, system architecture diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborates with data analysts and data scientists to understand their data needs and develop data solutions that meet these needs.
- Collaborates with software engineers and DevOps engineers to ensure that data systems are integrated with other systems and that data can be accessed securely.
Requirements
- BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant field.
- At least 3-6 years of relevant working experience in data engineering or data platforms.
- Prior experience in the energy sector will be considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of ETL techniques to integrate data from various sources.
- Understanding of data flow modelling and cloud-based solution development standards.
- Experienced to data pipelines scalability, reliability, and performance, ensuring that data is processed efficiently and accurately.
- Understanding of data architecture principles and how these can be practically applied within a similar organization.
- Excellent understanding of cloud-based data solutions including data lakes, data warehouses and ETL pipelines (ex AWS, MS Azure etc).
- Hands-on experience with SQL database.
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and oral.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment with a result driven mindset.
- Commitment to continuous learning and stay up to date with the latest trends in the field.
- Strong business acumen and ability to understand business needs and translate them into data-driven solutions.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
