Position Location
This role is available in the Bay Area or NYC.
Time Zone Requirements
The team operates in both East and West Coast time zones.
Travel Requirements
The team has regular onsite collaboration sessions. These occur several consecutive days per month either at the Bay Area or NYC office. If you need to travel to make these meetups, Prime will cover all travel related expenses.

Prime Financial Technologies is reshaping the future of small and medium-sized business (SMB) finance by delivering cutting-edge embedded financial services. Through strategic use of machine learning, artificial intelligence, and vast financial datasets, we're making SMB lending more intuitive and empowering for businesses worldwide.
Data science drives Prime’s product and business decisions. As one of the first data scientists at Prime, you will be an integral part of the design and development of our core decisioning systems. We are building integration workflows and analytical tooling for large scale small business data. The success of Prime is directly dependent on the contributions of our data science team.
What You'll Do
Strategic Development: Design and implement machine learning models that drive predictive insights and lead to informed decision-making.
Data Analysis: Work closely with diverse datasets, creating algorithms to pinpoint trends, detect anomalies, and produce actionable insights.
Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with various teams, including engineering and product management, to ensure data-driven decisions align with company objectives.
Innovation: Continuously explore and apply novel techniques, driving the field of smb lending into new territories.
Mentoring: Share expertise, guiding junior data scientists and fostering a culture of growth and excellence.
What We're Looking For
Education: Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field / equivalent experience.
Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in data science, with a proven track record.
Skills: Expertise in machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, data mining, and large-scale data processing (spark or other). Strong programming skills in Python.
Knowledge of entity resolution, graph theory, and neural networks.
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with the specific challenges and opportunities in lending.
Experience with small business industry classification and related applications.
