We are currently looking for a Data Engineer Team Lead to join our IT team.
By joining this role, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining Compensation & Benefits policies, ensuring talent attraction and compliance. You'll conduct job evaluations, participate in market surveys, develop Long-Term Incentive Plans, coordinate expatriation packages, and contribute to the annual increases cycle based on performance and equity.
Your role will encompass:
Build and evolve the next generation data platform of the organization by processing and managing information from various data silos on Microsoft Azure Cloud
Conduct technical workshops with Data Architects to approve proposed data solutions
Participate in daily meetings with data engineering team to resolve possible conflicts and blockers
Collaborate with Project Managers and Business Analysts and participate in workshops with internal and external stakeholders to validate business requirements
Design, build and test, ETL processes to move and transform data based on defined data architectures
Participate in the definition of best practices, standards and optimization techniques to enhance the Corporate Data Warehouse
Coordinate process for promoting new enhancements to production environment.
Monitor Data Warehouse’s daily scheduled flows and pipelines
Identify the gap between business requirement and data architecture and propose optimal data warehouse and analytics solutions to fulfill the business/technical requirement
Estimate tasks required to complete business demand, in terms of time and resource planning
Maintain and enrich the existing reporting data schema and internal SQL database systems
What you bring to the role:
- BSc or MSc degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related technical field
- 5-7 years of relevant work experience in data engineering, business intelligence or related field
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts (ETL, Staging/Target Area, OLAP, Dimensional Modelling, Data Marts etc.)
- Experience in Azure Data Factory and Databricks will be considered an asset
- Experience in Azure Synapse or Azure Dedicated SQL Pool will be considered an asset
- Experience with source control tools, code repositories, code versioning, and branch development
- Ability to translate complex requirements to engaging visualizations and reports
- Experience in managing a team
- Good analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
- Strong skills in teamwork and communication
- Strong desire to keep learning, growing
- Fluency in English language, both written and oral
- Previous working experience of DWH/BI projects in the energy, metals or retail industry will be considered a plus
