What is this position about?
We are seeking a Data Science Engineer to collaborate with a leading US-based retail network of supermarkets across the USA. This company is dedicated to offering a diverse range of products and services, with a goal to enhance the overall shopping experience for its customers. In this role, you will be a valuable member of a dynamic and diverse team dedicated to utilizing data analysis techniques to extract insights, build predictive models, and develop data-driven solutions.
What will I be doing?
- Analyze and preprocess large datasets to extract meaningful insights and patterns.
- Utilize Jupyter Notebooks for data analysis, create data processing pipelines, train models, and visualize results.
- Develop a custom Python library from scratch, leveraging PyMC as the foundational probabilistic programming library.
- Work with time series data sourced either from BigQuery using SQL queries or provided in CSV format, stored in GCP.
- Apply advanced statistical techniques, notably Bayesian inference, to construct robust MMMs.
- Employ machine learning algorithms such as linear regression and tree-based models to enhance marketing effectiveness.
What expertise do I need?
- Studies in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Strong experience with Python, including familiarity with key libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, and Pymc.
- Proficiency in using Jupyter Notebooks.
- Experience working with cloud technologies, particularly GCP (Google Cloud Platform).
