A day in the life of a Power BI Specialist
On a daily basis, you will begin with a comprehensive data review, ensuring awareness of the latest data trends. Early communication with stakeholders helps identify immediate data requirements. You will focus on meeting stakeholder needs and enhancing data accessibility. You will need to be focus on data modeling, optimization, and meticulous documentation. Overall, Staying updated with industry trends and best practices in data visualization remains a constant throughout the day.
Your day-to-day
- Create and manage interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to grasp their data needs and transform them into effective visual representations
- Design, optimize, and develop data models and queries for extracting, transforming, and loading data from diverse sources, employing SQL and SSIS
- Implement strategies for data cleansing and data quality assurance to uphold the accuracy and dependability of reports and analyses.
- Leverage the Soft1 ERP system to retrieve pertinent data and seamlessly incorporate it into Power BI dashboards
- Establish and maintain documentation for data models, processes, and report specifications
- Remain informed about the most recent trends and industry best practices in data visualization and business intelligence
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Power BI server Specialist or similar role, with a strong understanding of data analysis and visualization concepts at least 2 years
- Proficiency in using Power BI to create interactive reports and dashboards
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and present findings
Great to have
Familiarity with Python or R for data manipulation and analysis would be a plus
Experience in the retail industry, especially in women's clothing, is desirable but not required
Knowledge of ERP systems, such as SOFTONE
Experience with SSIS is a beneficial skill to possess
