ICF is hiring multiple positions to assist with research, data analysis, writing, and related activities to support our climate change work. These positions will focus on greenhouse gas accounting and management, life-cycle and supply chain analyses, climate change adaptation and resilience, and supporting various clients with sustainability goal-setting and performance management.
Candidates must be comfortable conducting data-driven analyses and effectively communicating the findings. Candidates must be strong critical thinkers, with the ability to help develop and customize approaches to data analysis to help meet the needs of a given project. This role may also require review of scientific literature.
This is an entry-level position, intended for candidates who have 0-1 years of experience, are currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program with an upcoming graduation date before June 2024. Start dates vary between late 2023 and Summer 2024. The entry salary will typically be in the low $60Ks, depending on qualifications.
This position will be based in ICF’s Crystal City office (Arlington, VA) with a hybrid work arrangement (i.e. minimum 2 days in the office; the other days may be remote or in the office).
Basic qualifications:
- Currently completing a Bachelor’s degree (with graduation by June 2024) in Atmospheric Sciences, Economics, Chemistry, Math, Environmental Sciences, Biology, Climate Science, Environmental Policy, or similarly related field.
Preferred qualifications:
Demonstrated interest in climate change or sustainability topics.
Experience performing quantitative analyses; managing and analyzing large datasets.
Experience using Microsoft Excel, R, and/or Python.
The ability to use research and data to help “tell a story” and provide salient information with which our clients can make decisions.
Comfort reading and interpreting technical scientific information.
Excellent writing and oral communication skills

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:
$53,200.00 - $90,440.00
