The Senior Data Scientist will join a team that leverages predictive modeling and analytics to support Humana’s HQRI (Healthcare Quality & Reporting Improvement) department. The team focuses on risk adjustment modeling for our Medicare, Commercial, and Medicaid business. The HQRI department is a high-performing department with a key role within Humana. They rely on this team to provide guidance in operations and financial projections that are grounded in data science.
Responsibilities
The Senior Data Scientist in this role will empower risk adjustment decision makers through predictive analytics. They will provide actionable, accurate, and reliable solutions to our operations and finance partners’ business needs. They will put the customer first, delivering timely and clearly communicated results.
Objectives:
Within six months, understand and run at least 2 of our major models
Within one year, improve our models by increasing efficiency, building a new model/process, and/or improving the accuracy of an existing model
Responsibilities:
Utilize mathematics, statistics, and programming to generate predictions that drive risk adjustment operations and strategy
Partner with peers and supervisors to establish an overall collaborative working relationship
Deliver complex information in the manner most useful to the customer, utilizing tables, charts, graphs, filters, etc. to make clear the most important aspects of the information presented
Seek always to understand customers’ needs and works in partnership with customers to develop solutions that satisfy those needs
**This role will be Hybrid Home; which means you’ll be in office 2 days and you may work at home 3 days per week**
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 3 or more years of data analytics experience
Proficiency with one of the following: SQL, SAS, R or Python
Experience using mathematics, statistics, modeling, business analysis, and technology to transform high volumes of complex data into advanced analytic solutions
Ability to use independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.
