We are looking for our Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team at our Berlin HQ.
🎯 What you will contribute:
- Data Pipeline Construction: Develop, construct, test, and maintain robust and scalable data architectures including databases, large-scale processing systems, and data lakes.
- ETL Management: Design, implement, and manage ETL processes that make data accessible, reliable, and actionable for business needs.
- Real-Time Data Processing: Architect and implement real-time data pipelines to support analytics, operational insights, and data science initiatives.
- Technical Collaboration: Partner closely with data scientists to develop algorithms and build data models aligned with the organisation's objectives.
- Optimisation: Continuously improve reporting and data analysis processes, focusing on automation and self-service solutions for stakeholders.
- Innovation: Stay updated on emerging technologies in data engineering and architecture, making proactive recommendations for improvements and new initiatives.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Engage with other departments such as marketing, sales, and customer service to develop data products that enhance operational efficiency and business outcomes.
🤝What you bring:
- 6+ years experience in engineering, preferably in fast-paced startup environments
- Hands-on experience with AWS (certification is a plus)
- Programming Skills: Highly skilled in Python, with Java or Scala as added advantages
- Data Warehousing: Extensive experience with cloud-based solutions like Snowflake, Redshift, or Google BigQuery.
- Data Processing: Proficiency in distributed data processing frameworks like Apache, Spark, Hadoop, or Flink.
- Real-Time Processing: Experience in real-time data processing with tools like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Kinesis.
- ETL Tools: Expertise in ETL/ELT orchestration using tools like Apache Airflow or Luigi.
- Database Expertise: Deep understanding of both SQL databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL and NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, or Redis.
