DATA ENGINEERING TEAM
The Data Engineering Team designs, builds, and maintains our data infrastructure platform, transforming raw data into meaningful analytics and insights that business areas use to design models, develop strategies, run analyses, and perform other data-related decision-making.

THE ROLE
We are seeking a detail-focused, knowledgeable and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team! The key focus of the position is to create access to critical data for a variety of teams, spread across the business and engineering groups. We are an international organization with diverse data from across multiple platforms (including stores) and your work will directly help the organization create value from that data, using a variety of techniques ranging from data modeling, to report creation for broad consumption, to writing code to consume data in a structured way.
You will join a team of data engineers who are building out the practice and you’ll have the freedom to explore new ways of thinking about these challenges, having the potential to make a significant impact on the way business operates using data. As a senior member of the team you will also be responsible for guiding other team members, and setting a high bar of excellence.
WHAT YOU´LL DO
- Design, build, and maintain scalable & reliable end-to-end data pipelines to consume and integrate large volumes of complex data from multiple sources while using data flows management platforms
- Work cross functionally with other teams, creating solutions that deal with large volumes of data
- Constantly evolve data models & schema design of our Data Warehouse to support business needs
- Build systems that allow for validation of our data product, ensuring accuracy of these data sets
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc
- Provide Data Engineering expertise and guidance to the team, with industry and internal data best practices
- Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL, Python, dbt, BigQuery, AWS technologies and other modern data tooling
- Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights
- Be a keen advocate of quality and continuous improvement
WHO YOU ARE
- You have 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineering professional with solid technical background building and maintaining end to end data pipelines using ETL management/orchestration technologies, such as Airflow and dbt
- You have a foundation in Computer Science, Engineering, Stats or Math, through education and/or work
- You have advanced SQL skills, and proficiency in Python for data manipulation
- You have experience working with a BI reporting tool (eg. Tableau, Looker, PowerBI);
- You are experienced in AWS or Azure cloud computing
- You are a proficient applier of continuous delivery principles: with git version control, unit/automated tests and CI/CD deployment pipelines
- You have experience in using agile principles/methodologies
- You have good analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast moving operational environment with an enthusiastic and positive attitude
- You understand the importance of process and structure but also know how to get things done in a scrappy way
- You’ve worked with a variety of types of data and know how to make things come together to form a cohesive dataset
- You are ready to work closely with a variety of stakeholders to get things done and can explain problems from outside people’s experience in a way that helps them understand and feel engaged
- You are fluent in English, both written and spoken
