As a Staff ML Engineer, you will help develop Extreme Networks’ key initiatives in Venue Insights. This is an opportunity to extend your knowledge in Kubernetes and Docker containers, parallel processing using Dask, streaming data and most importantly, ownership of a complex project.

Job Responsibilities:

·        Setting up junior teammates for success.

·        Helping junior ML engineers in the team improve their coding practices and patterns.

·        Contribution to product design, feature implementation, testing and debugging issues.

·        Supporting fellow developers by writing clean code and reviewing colleagues’ code.

·        Collaborating with developers and other departments.

Qualifications/Skills:

·        Strong technical background in software development

·        Strong technical background in Bayesian Networks

·        You have at least 7 years of experience in software development, with specialization in data engineering and visualization

·        Commitment to best practices in software development, including unit tests and design practices

·        Strong understanding of data engineering

·        Strong understanding of big data parallel processing, particularly Dask.

·        Strong knowledge of Python

·        Strong knowledge of at least one compiled language, preferably Go

·        Strong knowledge of Bash-like scripting languages

·        Expert understanding of Linux operating system

·        Expert knowledge of networking technology and processes

·        Hands-on experience with GIT and GitHub

·        Expert knowledge with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus

·        Bachelor’s degree preferably in the fields of computer science, engineering, or mathematics

·        Knowledge of networking technologies and concepts, LAN switching, routing, Ethernet and IP

Location:
