What you will do:
Ancestry seeks an exceptional, passionate, and highly motivated Business Intelligence Data Analytics Engineer, Intern to join our Supply Chain Analytics team this summer. The Supply Chain Analytics team provides analytical support to different teams within the DNA org, including: Operations, Hard Goods, Engineering, and Design & Optimization’s program and product management. The Supply Chain Analytics team also supports business growth for DNA.
As a BI Data Analytics Engineer Intern on the Supply Chain Analytics team, you will lead the development of a cutting-edge system using Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). You will be responsible for crafting a comprehensive product roadmap, obtaining approvals, and executing the implementation of data ingestion pipelines. As a key player on our team, you will drive innovation, foster collaboration, and ensure that our data infrastructure consistently delivers value to our customers.
Develop a strategic roadmap for third-party data ingestion, including the creation of an EDI Prototyping Model and thorough research on the setup
Design and construct data ingestion pipelines using APIs and EDIs to facilitate the seamless flow of external data
Collaborate closely with stakeholders to identify and define data requirements, design data solutions, and guarantee timely delivery
Maintain a passionate commitment to delivering enduring value to our customers, emphasizing inclusivity and transparency
Champion innovation on a larger scale, driving greater impact across the organization
Who You Are:
A passionate and self-driven individual capable of thriving in an environment with ambiguity, demonstrating a relentless commitment to achieving goals
Proficient in the use of data tools such as Python, PostgreSQL, Tableau, ERP systems, Redshift, and ETL processes, with a strong understanding of various data sources
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey complex ideas and solutions
Demonstrated ability to focus on the essential details, communicate concisely, and be persuasive in all directions
Previous experience in ETL and data engineering is a valuable asset, showcasing your expertise in data integration

Internship Program Details:
Students must be enrolled in an accredited U.S. educational institution with a graduation date after August 2024.
Summer 2024 program dates are May 13 – September 6 (Please note we will have three intern onboarding dates to choose from: May 13th, May 28th, and June 10th. Students may offboard every Friday, beginning August 9th. All internships must be wrapped up by September 6th).
FULLY PAID temporary housing and travel to and from the internship are provided.
All summer internships will be in Lehi, Utah. You will work a combined hybrid and office-based schedule that allows you to choose which days you come into the office and which days you work from temporary housing/home (Utah students).
Interns have the opportunity to network and partner with other interns and industry-leading professionals.
You will participate in engaging events, including executive speaker sessions, professional development, and our annual Intern Days to showcase your project and work.
You will be required to work a full-time schedule (40 hours/week), Monday-Friday.
Company-issued laptop and equipment will be provided for the duration of the internship program.
