We are seeking a Director, Data Engineering to join our growing Professional Services team. The Professional Services team has two areas of focus – Implementation Services and Strategic Consulting. Who We Look ForAt its core, this role is about three things – leading our Data Engineering function and helping it scale; growing the Data Engineering team by hiring the best; leading the team to build scalable and repeatable frameworks that can be used in our implementations. Our customers come to us to solve their problems. Your mission is to lead your team to work with them and internal teams at Treasure Data to find these answers by demonstrating the full capabilities of our leading Customer Data Platform. Our customers’ problems are varied: some are trying to reach their customers in a new way. Some are trying to develop a new market segment. Some are trying to evolve their go-to-market in a ground-breaking manner and enlisted our product as a key piece of the puzzle. Oftentimes, it’s all of the above at the same time. If you love working with multiple teams, driving a project to completion, and delighting customers while constantly learning about new domains, this is the role for you. Things you will do-Lead a team, primarily based out of India and Vietnam, that is responsible for building data orchestration pipelines for our customers during implementation.-Continue to build a team of passionate individuals that is the backbone of our implementations.-Mentor and lead the team of Data Engineers, guide the members of the team to make the right decisions and participate in brainstorming sessions along with the team.-Set goals and targets for the team and enable the members to meet their objectives.-You will also be responsible for leading some engagements from start to finish, especially for our marquee customers.-Participate in project initiation, requirements gathering, solution design as well as training and initial production support.-Provide guidance during the customer’s development and adoption lifecycle (implementation, onboarding and adoption).-Partner with customers’ senior decision-makers and project sponsors (VPs, SVPs, CXO) in understanding their business goals and use cases.-Partner with customers in determining the best solutions and team with internal teams on up-sell/cross-sell opportunities.-Provide thought leadership and guidance while ensuring that the engagements align with our Best Practices and Implementation methodologies.-Be the authority in all things Treasure Data and work with the customer as well as internal teams in driving the design of a scalable solution-Up to 25% travel may be required as part of this job Your background and skills will include-8+ years of team management and team development experience; comfortable leading teams in a matrix organization.-12+ years of project/account management experience working with distributed teams.-Proven project leadership experience implementing multi-million-dollar SaaS implementations or enterprise ERP / CRM projects.-Prior experience with requirements gathering, scope definition, leading product and strategy workshops, change management, and adoption-An analytical and strategic approach to understanding how to convert customer’s objectives and business goals into concrete use cases and a tangible project plan-Time management skills with the ability to effectively lead and prioritize multiple competing projects at the same time-Superb communication (oral/written/presentation) skills; able to communicate and set expectations at various levels within the customer’s organization-Ability to partner with customers and build strong relationships while influencing collaborative decision making-Prior experience with consultative and solution-based selling of cloud-based or SaaS products-Motivated self-starter who is with an appetite for winning.-B.S. or B.A. or higher in Computer Science, Math, Economics, or related field We would be thrilled if you-Have a good understanding of digital marketing and marketing technologies-Have consulting experience at Big 4 consulting firms-Have experience working with big data technologies (such as Hadoop, MapReduce, Hive/Pig, Cassandra, MongoDB etc.)-Have some level of understanding or experience in AI and ML concepts What You GetCompetitive salary and benefits: we seek the best talent for this role as you are the enduring face of our company for our most strategic customers.Unique access: You will have the opportunity to engage deeply in a complex enterprise business & technology challenge with the full backing of our Product & Engineering organizations.
