As a Data Engineer you will be building data products that solve crucial problems for the business. Plastiq is a data-driven organization - data is at the core of our business, and we are building products leveraging the existing underlying infrastructure to support internal/external stakeholders and scale our company. You will be a key contributor on our data engineering team and help build, optimize and evolve new data products to support our growth. Our Data Stack:At Plastiq we have incrementally built our current internal data and analytics platform. We have MySQL databases for our production OLTP systems and our data lake/data warehouse built in Snowflake using our custom built real time and batch data pipelines. Our teams use a number of cloud based BI tools (Periscope) to generate reporting off of these data stores.  Our future: We are making a substantial investment in our data stack and building out new products that help scale our internal teams as we continue to grow. You will help us in all aspects of building the new products from the ground up. You will be involved in requirements elicitation, design, development and productionize the systems that help reduce the amount of manual work done by our internal teams and also to build new features that enhance Plastiq’s data capabilities as we grow. This role will work closely with all our internal teams (Product/Operations/Analytics/ Data Science). Your Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement an optimized and secured data pipeline across data sourcesPartner with internal teams to identify and understand pain points preventing the company from achieving the optimized operation. Design and deliver data products to address the challengesBuild data marts to provide reliable and accurate data in a fast and consistent mannerDesign flexible API based data servicesImplement comprehensive unit-tests and production monitoring systems to ensure data quality and efficient correction operations Your Minimum Required Experience 3 years of hands-on technical experience in a data engineering role2-4 years of SQL coding experienceExperience in building data solutions using Python or NodeExperience in data technologies such as AWS RDS (Aurora/MySQL), No-SQL databases (DynamoDB) Your nice-to-have Experience Experience with modern MPP systems (such as Snowflake, etc.)Experience with workflow tools (such as Airflow, AWS Step Function, etc.) Experience with Python data processing libraries (Pandas, Numpy, etc.)Experience in building data solutions in payment processingExperience with No-SQL framework (Flask, Django, etc.)Experience with REST API designExperience with ML libraries such as (Scrapy (preferred), scikit-learn, TensorFlow, etc.) Plastiq's Tech Stack Plastiq operates a CI/CD model and releases code to production frequently. We are building cloud-native micro-services with a component-based frontend written in React.js, and a Node.js backend, which sits in front of our Payments Processing Platform built in Java.For our testing platforms we use Jest for API & unit backend tests, cypress.io for frontend testing, and Gitlab for our continuous integration and delivery. Plastiq is powered by data. Our data pipeline continuously streams data to Snowflake via AWS Kinesis so our Data Engineering and Analytics team can produce machine-learning models that help drive our business.Plastiq is a smart payment platform designed for businesses to better manage their payments and cash flow.
