We're hiring for our first Data Scientist to build on our data-driven approach. Someone with a deep understanding of quantitative analysis. This is a high leverage position. You'll partner with various teams to improve our products and grow our business.

We believe there is huge potential here. We have a treasure trove of structured marketplace data going back years.

You will

  • Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how our users interact with our products
  • Form hypotheses about our products and develop experiments to test them.
  • Partner with our product, sales, and operations teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities.
  • Pull data, build dashboards, and keep a watchful eye on the overall health of our marketplace
  • Develop interesting insights about our marketplace to drive data-driven content marketing
  • Promote data fluency across the team

You have

  • 3+ years experience as a data scientist working with large scale datasets. Ideally at a startup or mid-size tech company
  • Proven ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance.
  • Expertise in statistical analysis. Can build and analyze linear/nonlinear models and stochastic models.
  • Ability to distill insights from imperfect data with confidence
  • Highly skilled at Excel or a statistical package such as R, MATLAB, SPSS, SAS, Stata, etc.
  • Highly skilled at SQL
  • Coding experience in at least one of {Python, Ruby, Perl, R, Matlab}


  • Domain familiarity. Experience analyzing marketplace products
  • Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Economics, Statistics, Sciences, Engineering)
  • Strong verbal and communication skills. You can paint a compelling narrative with data.
