Farm Vision Technologies is an early-stage startup company focused on leveraging computer vision technology to provide growers of specialty crops with reliable, accurate, actionable information about their groves and orchards. We are a small team, tightly focused on developing a proof-of-concept product that excites our customers.
We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to take the lead in converting the visual metrics we can measure into actionable insights for our customers. You will help fruit growers solve important problems in their orchards! This is a multidisciplinary role containing elements of statistical analysis, agronomy, and machine learning.

Quantify relationships between geometric properties that we obtain through computer vision, additional measurements that we can obtain in the field, and agronomic metrics that our customers care about.
Build systems from the ground up to automatically compute these metrics and present them to customers (including data visualization).
Develop and maintain expertise in plant growth models and agronomic practices.
Identify and integrate additional sources of data useful for yield mapping and prediction.
Masters degree (PhD preferred) in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, mathematics, data science, plant science, horticulture, agronomy, computer science. We also accept an equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ years experience in statistical analysis.
Experience communicating analytical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Proficiency with statistical software (such as R/SPSS/SAS/Stata/Pandas etc.).
Familiarity with Python programming and machine learning is preferred but not required.
