Role & Responsibilities:
-Lead our data science team to build out our core image analysis algorithm
-Develop deep-learning and other machine learning models against large image datasets to improve the our core image analysis algorithm
-Define and build tools and processes to improve the core image analysis algorithm
-Full ownership of application life cycles, including prioritization and continuous improvement by working closely with engineering teams
-Curate reference datasets and become subject-matter expert for analyzing our test cards
-Deliver production-quality code against aggressive timelines

Mission/Purpose:
Vessel’s image analysis algorithm is one of the key components of our product. The data science team continues to improve our accuracy so we can deliver an epic experience to our consumer. The data science team needs to be filled with A-players, all working together to deliver this. The ideal candidate is a strong, creative and highly-motivated Computer Vision Scientist with hands-on experience in leading multiple research and engineering initiatives. You can balance technical leadership with strong business judgment to make the right decisions about technology, tools, and methodologies.

Qualifications (Must haves):
-BS in Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Math or equivalent highly technical field.
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to explain technical concepts and analysis implications clearly to a wide audience.
-3+ years of hands-on experience working in data science and/or machine learning using models and methods such as neural networks.
-Proficiency in Python or other equivalent statistics and machine learning tools.
-Proven ability to implement and operate at large scale.
-Experienced in computer science fundamentals such as object-oriented design, data structures and algorithm design.
-Last 5 years in data science projects that have launched successfully

Qualifications (Preferred):
-Hands-on experience working in computer vision and machine learning using models and methods such as CNN, LSTM, GAN etc.
-Proficient using Computer Vision and Deep Learning toolkits.
-Strong ability in problem solving and driving for results.
-Experience with AWS services and large datasets.
-Strong personal interest in learning emerging technology independently and continuously.
-Strong communication and data presentation skills.
